Ever wonder what your elected officials are interested in learning more about? Well, when members of the U.S. Congress want the facts, one place they go for answers is the Congressional Research Service (CRS).
If you’re unfamiliar with the CRS, they not only answer Congressional inquiries, they produce outstanding resource documents that are well-researched, empirically-based, non-partisan and, to the extent possible, written in accessible language.
From time to time, we browse recently released CRS reports and highlight those with potential interest to our readers. Once again, we’ve attempted to categorize the list but note that documents may cross over categories.
Clicking a title will open a new browser window with a document summary, from which the full report can be downloaded in portable document format (pdf). Dates indicate when the reports were prepared. To browse past listings, enter “CRS Reports” in the search box at right.

* The Congressional Research Service (CRS) is the independent, non-partisan public policy arm of the U.S. Congress, and conducts its research in response to requests from members of Congress. CRS reports are in the public domain; however, documents are generally not released to the public except through the requesting member of Congress. Documents listed above are made available through the independent Open CRS project.
