I am opposed to growing corn as a bio fuel. It may be cleaner but growning the corn carries a heavy toll on the enviornment. Massive amounts need to be grownto make the fuel. Huge abouts of fertilizer and pesticide are put on for increased production. This produces large amounts of run off of chemicals into our streams and rivers There are millions of acres that have to be irrigated thus depleting our water supply. Our need for water is much more a neccesity than corn to replace oil. The government subsides the big farmers who grow corn and thus they buy as much land as possible. I believe in alternative energies such as wind and solar, but growing corn is expensive and expends more energy to grow it than it provides in my opinion. There have to be other forms of green mater that can be grown that a much gentler on the earth
