The College of Geosciences at Texas A&M University is one of the largest and most comprehensive academic concentrations of geosciences students, faculty and research activity in the world. The blending of disciplines includes atmospheric science (meteorology), geography, geology and geophysics, and oceanography at the College station campus; as well as marine science at the coastal campus in Galveston.

Texas A&M University: Geochemical and Environmental Research Group
The Geochemical and Environmental Research Group (GERG) is a center of excellence in applied geosciences within the College of Geosciences of Texas A&M University. GERG was formed in 1981 and has a staff of approximately 70 research scientists, managers, professionals, technicians, graduate students, and student workers with a broad range of experience and expertise in geochemistry, oceanography, environmental/analytical chemistry, atmospheric sciences, marine chemistry, ecology, marine biology, physical oceanography, toxicology, and other environmental fields. An administrative staff of management professionals and secretaries provides fiscal control, human resource management, and clerical support for the group
